THE PROJECT
An internal convention for EDF's Clients, Services & Territories division (CST), designed to
celebrate its employees, under the line « Incroyable CST, Convention & Victoires du Pôle CST ».
The concept: a gala evening where staff take to a full performance stage to reveal their hidden
talents, between live acts and on-set sequences. The event borrows from two television formats, the
talent show for the stage and its performances, the talk show for the conversational moments,
brought together in a single stage design.
MY ROLE
Working from references supplied by the agency, I conceived and produced the 3D concept for the
stage, structured in three distinct zones united under a single giant screen. At the centre, the main
stage and its runway, where a pair of salsa dancers illustrates the kind of performance expected. On
the left, an area for live musicians. On the right, a talk show set with its desk and sofas for
interviewing employees. I drew on the visual codes of talent show stages, tiered seating, lighting
rigs, LED screens, speaker stacks, to give the scale and energy of a broadcast, and developed the
concept across several viewpoints, audience views and close-ups, so the client could picture the
complete setup. Modelling and rendering were done in Blender, with colour grading and final
compositing in Photoshop.
